Wow guys, are you really having that hard of time with your Dr.? When I had my first one done at 46, I waited until I was bone on bone and hobbling. I was not going to let that happen again, this time the "scope" lasted 4 months, the synvisc didn't touch it. The Dr. told me another scope would probably buy me 1 - 5 years, I said, I am going to have to have it done anyhow, let's do it now and he scheduled me. NA month later and I had a new knee.

As for the knees wearing out, I go yearly for an xray for the bearing surface of the knee, which is replaceable. My Dr. has assured me the replacement of the is no where near as complicated (dangerous) as installing the knee again.

Take this for what it is worth...
