Absolutely. Li or NiHM batteries would be lighter, but at 3-5 times the cost, not including the charger. Besides, I got these batteries for free. A 3 pound battery gives me 4+ hours of light, so it's a good tradeoff for commuting.
Yeah, that's true. I didn't consider the costs of the Li batteries. Now that I think about it they are pretty darn expensive. Thanks for pointing that out.
