You guys probably never heard of BOOM BOXES. Yeah, there used to be these old portable stereos that you could play AM/FM radio stations, as well as cassette tapes and even CDs. They're probably ancient antiques by now, but you might find one at a local second-hand store. What's nice about them is, they already have their own box or case, and you can duct tape them to your rack thing easier.

I already own a nice boom box, but this way I still have storage space.

The radio would be under me and most of its openings are sealed shut by glue, and the speakers are already nearly waterproof. The box itself would get a bit soggy, but nothing serious would happen unless I'm on a trail or somewhere else rough. Either way, I'm sure it could survive long enough that I could get it covered, and maybe I'll carry a grocery bag with me to cover it just in case.
