Saturday was the day I was "supposed" to ride 50 miles to mark a certain milestone, but 50 isn't much of a ride, and the weather and trails are just to nice. So it was an epic (for me) of 32 around Mt. Tam. Totaling 5,300' of climbing; did Highway 1 from Stinson to the Coastal Fire trail, up to Ridgecrest, down at Lauren Dell, Rocky Ridge, Lagunitas, Eldridge Grade, Hoo Koo E Koo, Old Railroad Grade and returning on the Coastal (which was a blast.) Tried to find the Lone Tree Fire Trail, didn't, so went up on Coastal. Beautiful day. Riding pavement with low pressure and knobbies is no fun, but diving off the road into the woods is awesome. Sadly my tire blew within sight of the Highway and a bit of bad luck from that point on (Broke pump, Pump tore valve cap out, Fellow MTB'er gave me a new tube which got cut by the rim...) Really great trip in any event. Legs were toast so Sunday I just did a little jaunt up the the Mt. Diablo South Gate entrance.
