+1 SunTour MountTech. I use one on a bike that's set up 28-46-50 and it works fine, just fine. Reasonably attractive as well.
Same here on my Fuji Touring Series III, Mountech FD on a 50-45-28, handles it fine. I also use the Mountech RD, but the second generation one without the funky upper pulley wheel, wonderful wide range RD when you can find them. They don't show up often.
