And FWIW, the numbers on Champion tube sets (Champion #1, #2, etc) refer strictly to the wall thickness, not quality - at least 'til you get down to #5 (or was it #4?), where it goes from double-butted to plain gauge. In the butted sets, lower # = thinner walls.

I know. Champion tubing went from #1 down to #5. We can't forget Tange 900 as well.
