Steel is nice when it comes to damping road buzz.The newer tubing appears to be lighter and stronger than the older stuff. I grew up riding steel framed bikes and found that aluminium was horrible for road buzz (and that was on a hardtail hybrid too) so I went full carbon on my next bike .

After reading about Dario Pegoretti recently I'd love to try a steel frame one of these days.
