I certainly do count it. It's getting to work or back home. No law says you have to take the shortest possible way. My regular route is actually a couple of miles long just so I can utilize the MUP and avoid traffic.
I take a longer route to and from work because taking the shortest possible route would plunge me down the busiest four-lane in the city. I'm not in that much of a hurry.
