Can't say I agree with that. You don't have to be a pro to appreciate that kind of bike. The club racer may not need one that exotic but that would be his choice I guess. Nothing wrong with that at all. My beef with the road forum is not with the equipment they ride. My distaste of that forum lies with the arrogant attitude of many there that compells them to heap scorn on every piece of equipment and on any enthusiast that does not conform to their elitist and snobbish view of cycling. Truly puzzling since I find it amusing that club level "racers" and wannabees could actually have a notion that they are elite in any manner whatsover.
I agree with this too, but the topic is about the bikes and not the people that might ride them. I´ve got older road bikes, so I´m not a snob, but I still feel my old road bikes to be superior in every sense on the long road run. By the way, I bought a brand new road bike of prefered brand a couple of years ago- it did absolutely nothing for my riding. I flipped it after 6 months.
