If I was going to pay someone to build my wheels, I would ask them to help select spokes so that they had a hand in selecting the proper spokes.

Likewise if someone wanted me to build a set for them, I would absolutely insist that I double check to be sure that everything would work together so my time would be not wasted during the build.

Is there some reason you can't ask the wheelbuilder for his help?
