Yes, it'll help. I prefer the location of the Honjo attachment points. I thought I read that VO was going to switch to two draw bolts per fender like Honjo, but the fenders I've bought recently do not.
I wear 46/11.5s, but I use clips so I don't think that really matters. I'll bet your toe overlap will not be as bad as mine, but will still be bad. C'est la vie. The only time it's really been an issue is super slow turns out of an alley or the like. It's certainly not the bike I'll use to practice track stands!
