Perception

I am new to cycling and am most likely a fred (not exactly sure what that entails). Jan.23 I purchased a Trek 1.5 and have done about 600 miles and am addicted. I have read as much as possible over that time. I am able to get a Trek 5.2 through a friend new for 33 percent off msrp. I went to my LBS to test ride it today. It was very cold and damp if that means anything. The bike was very light and climbed much easier then my1.5. I could not help but get the feeling that it felt less solid, firm, more plastic (for lack of knowledge or better terms). I have a feeling these are probably good things yet it left me feeling a bit disappointed. I really want to get this bike as I like the price, the looks, and the fact that I am getting a quality product. I did not ride the bike long enought to get a good feel (only about fifteen minutes). I did not want to muck the bike up. Most likely I will really like the bike when I get the feel. It is probably just getting used to a carbon frame. Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. Thanks in advance for the feedback.
