also, on the "summer socks" thing.
i've found that Costco sells some Adidas socks that are essentially identical as "summer cycling socks", only you can get a 6 pack for $10 instead of having to pay $10 a pair (or more) for these "cycling specific" socks. <-- they're made of the same materials, even have thinner (see through) material on the top of the foot, as well as a compression ring around where the arch is at.
the socks in the link above are almost identical to the ones you can get in a 6 pack at Costco (i think the ones at costco are a year older styles).
