I am not positive, but I think the frames were still Worksop (or Nottingham?) during those years and dressed out in Japan with all the Suntour /araya componenents. (The S/N would still begin with an "N" or a "W" ).
I was under the impression the Japanese or Taiwan frames came in about 1982-1987.
