Cut to length if it's too long. Buy a longer nut if it's too short. This should help others with similar problem. Once the nut is engaged into the bolt, you only need to achieve three full turns to properly clamp the brake to the frame. I would add a star washer to prevent the brake assembly from rotating once it is tightened to the frame.
