Indeed, my post described my experiences with released calipers. Currently running DiaCompe Royal Gran Compe.

Panaracer Stradius 700x26 get by fine, sometimes a bit of resistance. Hutchinson 28s, you can jam 'em in there, but your pads or calipers will wind up out of wack as often as not.

I never mess with barrel adjusters to get a wheel out. I suppose some folks are into that.

I'm talking easy, no muss, no fuss, no unreasonable force wheel removal and replacement.

YMMV.

I reckon the tire deflation bit was a bit extreme, lets just say that the larger tires get the less pretty wheel changes get...
