Seriously?
The Radbot 1000 is arguably a very bright, very noticeable strobe taillight while still remaining very lightweight.
Is it the brightest available? No, but if a driver is not going to notice this are they going to notice the next brighter taillight? For the price difference of >$150 I can buy both the Radbot 1000 and also a very bright, highly noticeable reflective wind/rain jacket like THIS with removable sleeves and still have plenty of money left over.
How exactly would this be "compromising" my safety vs. the 300R?

You must consider the Radbot 1000 as completely worthless I guess.
Your irony detection level is set too high: I was agreeing with you - somewhat. I still think its not really beneficial unless you're racing with in the dark (and I've worked San Francisco as a courier, so I feel that I know about hills and weight) but I also meant what I said - it's your money, and you're not compromising safety.

At least I presume that you're not - looking at the Radbot 1000 now (and why is it named like a walk-on character in Futurama) I'd want to know how wide a visibility cone it has - brightness from a range of angles is what matters, and often tends to get skipped. Unlike, say the Mars 4, I can't see any evidence that this has been thought of here.
