Get a good warmup .... I usually ride south on Rt 53 (right out of the parking lot entrance, under the bridge). It's fairly flat and usually in good shape.

There's no point in going too hard at the beginning. There are usually decent sized fields there, so get comfortable. There are no real corners except for the first one after the hill, but speeds are slow. Just stay smooth .... the left hander is not a turn, more like a small bend in the road as the hill starts. The road is wide enough to give plenty of room, just be careful if you're on the inside of corners.

You can do Plainville on Saturdays too .... that's a good basic flat crit course. I'll probably be there, with Bethel as a "maybe" depending on family issues.

I'm not sure about the Bethel spring series, but in the summer series & Plainville, if you get dropped, you can sit up and jump back in when the pack catches you. You'll be a lap down, so just stay out of the final sprint since you're not in contention at that point.
