anyway the 2.1 that's on sale at bikeshack for 1150 is a 2010 that's only in 50cm size. I'm hoping bikebarn will overlook that minor detail. Though they have the '11 at 1100 so I don't think it'd be an issue.
my question is, they're (the 2010 and 11) the same size and price, here are the only differences I could find between the two. I'm also wondering if you think there's a cannondale model I should look at while I'm there if I actually venture into the $1100 price range? Or is the 2.1 the clear best bang for your buck right there?

Identical framesets (the important part).
Handlebar/Saddle, you'll change change anyway with time.
Tiagra brakes better than Tektro, but for beginner, both are just fine:
either can be upgraded to 105/Ultegra for $60-75. later on.
The most important thing you're buying is the frameset, then group.
