I have SRAM Force on one bike and a mix of Ultegra and 105 on another bike. I really like the Shimano drivetrain better; it has a much lighter touch on the shift levers and the drivetrain is quieter than SRAM Force.

For the wheels, lots of people like Mavic Ksyriums, but I have never ridden them. They are not a good choice if you want something aerodynamic, but they are probably fine for general purpose riding. Keep in mind that they use proprietary spokes that are expensive and may take time to replace if/when a replacement spoke is needed. I use 32-spoke wheels with Velocity A23 rims, Shimano 105 hubs, and DT Competition spokes for everyday riding. They work great, have a really good ride quality, will last a long time, and are inexpensive compared to many other wheelsets.
