I weigh in at just under 170# and broke a spoke on my R500s in about 300 miles. Had them fixed and properly tensioned and they have been fine for a few thousand miles now. If they break another they will go in the bin. I would say get some hand builts with 32+ spokes and you should be able to enjoy a trouble free ride
