Yes, they are short armed mini-v and don't work as well as I'd hoped with the Sora STI. My Fuji has Avid shorties on the rear that work fine with the brake-only Cane Creek levers. I know about the reuse of old school names. This frame is most likely a 2009. I've seen several bikesdirect frames, have built a couple of them, and find them of decent quality. I don't expect "Motobecane" to carry any weight when selling the bike.
