Seat post needs to do 3 things:
1) fit in your seat tube,
2) have the right amount of set back,
3) be easy to adjust your seat position, and hold that position.
So, just make sure the post is the smae size, and has the right amount of set back.
Beyond that, Thomson is well regarded for the 3rd point.
