well.. to me, i look at a pinarello prince and it causes no resonance in me whatsoever. it just looks like plastic made in a factory by people with respirators and popsicle sticks and molds- lacquered with loud colors, decals, fairings and a taint smasher saddle fit for a triathlete. i LIKE thinking that a sooty metal shop inhabited by an old cyclist or two with brazing torches made my bike.

i AM being over the top and curmudgeonly but seriously. no interest whatsoever. not that the cervelos and such of the world aren't nifty-- but their place in the world is not the one i inhabit. possibly one day they'll temper the flashy blingyness of carbon and make them look less like crotch rockets, and make them subdued calming critters without all the racing accoutrement. til then, just on principle.. meh.. i'll stick with my outdated familiar if i take a hit in the mongo mileage arena for it.. i guess i'll absorb the hit.
