More spokes will lessen the tension difference on the spokes when they unload, meaning that they can run at lower tension in the first place, meaning less chance of cracking around the eyelet.
A rim with an eyelet will spread the load out in a bigger area, meaning less load on the rim at a given tension, meaning less chance of cracking around the eyelet.
If it was mine,I would build a 48 spoke wheel and forget about it.If your using disk in the back also,I'm not sure if you can do that or not,but I'd try.
I've never run Dyads but they are suppose to be a good rim, lots of people run them.I have no complaints about Mavic A719,it is a very good rim also. Not disk but who cares.
As far as strenght goes, more is better.
