I've gotta admit that I've only just bought my first set of Shimano dual pivot brakes (2nd hand Dura-Ace 7700) since I had some Ultegra dual pivots in about '93, which I sold. Since then I've only used crappy Campag single pivot calipers from the mid '90s. Brakes were obviously the last thing I decided to upgrade, because I didn't need new calipers to go from 7 speed, to 8 speed, to 9 speed, etc, so I never bought any.
Listen to this:

TONIGHT WAS THE FIRST TIME SINCE I WAS ABOUT 14 THAT MY REAR WHEEL LIFTED OFF THE GROUND WHEN I APPLIED THE FRONT BRAKE!! COULDN'T BELIEEEEEVE IT.
These Dura-Ace calipers are fkn amazing!! Welcome to the 90s, Nev
Reminded me of the Jack Brabham story when he drove a modern F1 car: he anticipated the horsepower, but didn't anticipate the amazing braking power, so he applied the brakes so far from the corner that he had to accelerate again to get to the bend!!
