Last night I rolled over my 5,000th mile in the year since I bought my first road bike. By the 24th, when I bought the bike last year, I should have about 5,200 for the full year.
Man! Rolling over that 5,000th mile felt great! My buddy and I were working together and averaged 22.2mph for 25miles to get there. The last several miles we were pushing between 25 and 28 mph. Felt SO good to roll over that milestone and to do it with friends.
I'd like to know though, how 5,000 miles a year stacks up. I know there are giant mileage threads (props
Pcad), but I'm interested in what normal human beings are pulling off, either yearly, or in their first year.
