5,000 is probably about what I do, aside from commute miles.

I agree with others, being in a warm climate helps. I'd probably ride more if it were warmer in winter, or I somehow enjoyed cold weather riding.


If you ride with groups more you'll probably find your mileage goes up. A combination of the fact that you can go farther in a group, and the social factor gets you to show up more consistently and stay out longer.
