I received a vintage Ideale saddle recently. When I got it out of the box I immediately noticed a "less than aromatic" odor coming from it. Can I spray something like Febreeze on it or will that damage it? There is a tack shop about a block away so maybe I should go ask them.

Try putting it in a ZipLoc bag for a week, with a bunch of mint and eucalyptus leaves. That might help.
