An interesting thing I learned today courtesy of the Wall Street Journal, the pools or ponds to store the spent or decommissioned rods (not fully spent, the reactor was in the process of being shut down) are On the ROOF of the reactor buildings!? No speculation on the why of the design now, but from what one can guess that is not good at all. No wonder why they want to drop water on them via a helicopter. It now makes sense.

The fact that it is not until basically today that they are digging a path for fire trucks to get near the buildings gives me much pause.

Time to Go. God's Speed.
