The always reliable kuwie
Yup Im bumping my own thread, I figured it's better than starting another. I can't believe I've only had the kuwie put together for four months and Im already tearing it down to rebuild. It has been a wonderful bike just some of the components have too many miles on them, I should have replaced them when I first put the kuwie together but I was in a hurry. I finally bought a leather saddle I bought a cheap one to test them out and see if I like em Its an old ADGA La Chatillonnaise I don't know anything about them but I got it for less than 30 bucks shipped so Im not out a lot if I don't like. I decided with a mid cage SORA for a rear derailleur and for now an XT front derailleur, got a new shorter stem new cables and frame pump, bought a new seatpost from walmart of all places (for 3$
) Im also re-gearing I originally built this bike up to use touring as well and didn't put much thought into the gearing on the last go around, it was 50-39-28 up front with an 11-28 out back, the new gears will be 46-34-24 up front and Im just replacing the 28 with a 30 on the back for better climbing. Everything else on the bike is going to stay the "same" frame and fork will be stripped and repainted this time with a clear im keeping the current fenders for now they are still in great shape so no reason to buy new ones. Heres the last photos of the Kuwie (which is already torn down) and a pic of most the new stuff.
