Bikes: Specialized Secteur, old Peugeot

Today began as a crisply cool morning but with brilliant sunshine and no clouds. I rode the bike path with camera at the ready. Narragansett Bay is bordered by many salt water ponds loaded with water fowl that leave their mark on the trail and on your tires. I enjoy all these creatures but the danged gulls grab clams, fly 30 feet above the pavement and then drop the clams to break the shells to get at the juicy parts. The result, for humans, is that large sections of bike path are littered with shards of very sharp shells. (Say that fast after two martinis) I flatted yesterday because shells cut my rear tire.

I did take many photos of very pretty New England terrain and I solemnly swear to post a trip report that I hope all will enjoy. Posting photos is my new year's resolution. The part that has me on edge is that, (I know this is what will happen) I will work out all the steps to posting photos and then they will change the system. I've had this happen in the past but what a beautiful day. Yesterday - 35 miles: Today - 12.
