I've done the same thing many times. I'm pretty sure that it's killed many people's weight loss efforts. "I'm starving myself and not losing any weight? Screw that, give me a cheeseburger."
I get the best results when I vary my food intake from day to day. Not something drastic like I've seen on some fad diets, just not eating the same thing -- or the same amount -- every day. My body seems to respond to it for some reason.
