Yeah, it's super easy to swap out the cog. It's just takes a screwdriver to snap out the retention ring and remove the cog and spacers (remember the position of spacers relative to the cog.) A new chain is necessary as more teeth means a longer chain. A new chain means a chain tool is necessary.

$10 cog, $10 chain, $10 chain tool =$30 job and 15 minutes of time. Well worth it. Save the old chain if it is in OK shape for a home-made chain whip
