Spot on. We are also disgusted w/ bicycle facilities which force us into right hook scenarios or which make us compete w/ dog walkers et al. I favor keeping the roads open to us, but reducing speed limits and otherwise calming motor vehicle traffic. I also do favor
conveniently and safely designed bypasses around fast free merges and diverges.
