worth noting is that most of the disc brake systems being discussed here cost considerably more than your entire bike. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but expensive disc brake systems shouldn't rub or make noise.

As long as it's dry, I can apply more than enough braking power with my front (caliper rim) brake. Disc brakes on road bikes seem like a solution without a problem.
