I am in the same situation. I looked at the EA50 and EA70. I like both, but the reviews I read are mixed. Not real sure I want to go there without some solid reviews.

I looked at ROL wheels. They seem to have a good following and strong, but somewhat suspect reviews. It seems that at the $300 dollar mark you either get crap or marginal crap. I have moved my ceiling price to $600 for commuter wheels just to broaden the field a little. Two LBSs in my area are stocking Mavic Open Pros with Ultegra. A set is prolly $500 or so. Them is good rims and hubs.

Mavic factory built runs into the problem of proprietary lacing patterns. You would have to send it to them for any spoke problems.
