I expect there's at least some truth to that. Both Serotta and now Kirk Frameworks have done something similar in the past, and there's now Pinarello and several other carbon makers making "less than straight" seat stays and even chain stays. I recently had a conversation with Dave Kirk, who designed the Serotta stays in the 90's, about his Terraplane stays. He claims an approx 5mm of travel with the terraplane, which helps keep the rear wheel planted firmly on the ground over minor irregularities in the road for better control and handling. He must have done a good job on the pitch because I put down my deposit for one of his frames a few days ago.

Oh and back to the OP: Campagnolo Athena 11sp group - All Alloy - $775.
This seller usually has a few sets on eBay too and is good to work with. Just bought my own Athena 11sp group (arrived within 5 days of payment) for the above mentioned Kirk.

If you wanted to gather up a prev. gen Campagnolo group, here's a sample of what a classic steel frame can look like all built up:

The Hetchins will look great regardless of the parts on it, build it the way you want to and enjoy!
