This thread is about S&S Couplers and wether they are of value to bike tourists and the logistics of sending bike boxes to destinations, packing racks, etc.... Not an overwhelming love of bike fridays. Obsessive adulation for bike fridays should be posted in I LOVE Bike Friday! threads.

Bike fridays don't handle like a full size diamond frame bike, vik. There are compelling reasons -high speed handling, off road capability, efficiency - for diamond frame bikes with S&S Couplers.

I can't imagine the west maui loop or descending Haleakala would be quite as much fun on a bike friday.

S&S coupled bikes have their place for tourists that like to ride bikes. the logistics of handling ones bike box or packing racks isn't a big issue, as others have said.
