Copper -- good stuff -- when I am in KC, I sometimes race the NEET (or something like that) crit. If you can race it, Tour of Lawrence is also a good time. (And, I think the week before is Tour of KC -- the crit in Power & Light district is fun, although, turn 1 leads into a short, but, steep climb that wore me down after a bit.)
