Kona makes good bikes but they have a horrible website, IMHO. None of their bikes' geometries are listed with their bikes. I guess they figure the cool hardcore MTBers don't care about geometry. You have to dig into their catalogues to get the geometry information. Don't bother looking at the JPEG. It's pretty much unreadable. Use the PDF instead.

Also, if you're looking for a touring bike, there are plenty out there (even non-custom) that may fit your bill. Check out
Rodriguez for instance. They have a pretty nice
tourer for $1700. It has an STA of 73 deg that while steeper than your old bike, might still work for you. STA isn't everything. Good luck.
