As far as the cotter goes, it is toast. I hammered the threaded part off, then I had to drill the thing out. I even tried heating it with a torch with no luck.

And a box of parts. There are some missing as derailleurs, bearings, chain etc are soaking in a tub of kerosene right now.

This is the fork, the whole bike it pretty neat. Where all the tubes hit the various junctions the metal that holds it together has an interesting pattern that would look good in contrasting paint colors I think.


I did get a snow day today, I think I'm going to focus on cleaning and polishing parts as I won't be able to paint the frame for a little while yet.
