Parting out a bike almost always nets you more if the parts are in decent shape. But like you said, it can be a hassle. It's just a gamble you take either way.
Don't DP18s weigh almost as much as B43s? A step in the right direction, I guess.. It sounds like you want a Wabi. In that case I'd say sell your Leader and get a Wabi. Because you'll be extra disappointed if you stick a bunch of money into the Leader and still aren't happy with it.
