It would be nice IF more police departments would take reports about bike v. bike or bike v. pedestrian crash. About the only time I can see them actively doing so is if one or both parties were seriously injured or killed.
In NC, the law prevents crash reporting of incidents that do not include a motor vehicle. Anything else is treated like getting hit by a piano. It might be considered an assault, in which case the police might want to be involved, but otherwise it's treated like a mishap that may or may not lead to a civil suit based on negligence.
