That' is a good article. Although I do not agree with one of the commentators who is basically saying that we cyclists need to avoid multi-lane roads, as well as avoiding roads during rush hour. If we did so how would we ever get around?

I beg to differ. Since motorists(and law enforcement) treat cyclists, as if they don't exist. As result of a cyclist having an accident on the road, a motorist following too close, because of a continual 'out of sight, out of mind' mentality, will cause a motorist to hit the brakes hard. The same would apply to any motorists following the errant motorist.
Sadly, you're probably right. And the irony is that the first car to hit the cyclist after s/he goes down will blame the cyclist for any and all damages to their car.
