Bikes: Giant Excursion, Raleigh Sports, Raleigh R.S.W. Compact, Motobecane? and about 20 more! OMG

Glad it worked out for you. Bike rentals can be a crap shoot. I ride XL bikes and my bride rides XS, neither of us rides road bikes so getting anything outside of a basic cruiser is unlikely, plus in many areas rentals are non existent.

Things I have done in the past: buy a bike at Goodwill or a thrift store, then donate it back when done. Buy an inexpensive bike and left it at the hotel for other people to use when done. Taken one of my less expensive bikes along and left it at the hotel when I traveled home on weekends. Hauled a bike along in the back of my truck to use, bought a Raleigh Twenty (sort of a folder) to haul along and use. Now possibly in the market for a Brompton or Bike Friday to take along, been downsized from a truck to a Honda Accord. Also considering a bike rack, but not sure I want to hassle with that.
