There are numerous lightweight minimalist trail shoes popping up these days similar to the MT101s. Merrill Trail Glove got pretty good reviews by the Runblogger. Also look at Innov-8 and GoLite as well. There is always the Vibram Five Fingers too. I personally have the NB MT101 for trailrunning, got them on right now as a matter of fact, and they are great minimalist trailrunners. Too bad about the treatment of their workers.
