If the law says you can ride your bike on the road, then you can ride your bike on the road, end of story.
No motorist has the right to tell you (politely or otherwise) to get off the road. It’s harassment, pure and simple. And if there’s an attentive and diligent cop in the vicinity, it could easily be aggressive driving as well.
The problem is not where you ride and where the idiot motorist would like you to ride. The problem is that they are in a 3000+ lb metallic monstrosity and you are not. That’s the problem. Otherwise I wouldn’t give a damn about their little tamper tantrums.
