Bikes: Surly CC

Finally figured out best bike for wife and I to do rando on

Initially my wife was sold on using the LHT frame I bought her to do a 460 mile ride we are planning next year. I was a little skeptical of the bike itself, because, while I have a fondness for all things Surly when it comes to commuting, I thought the bike was going to be a bit brutish on her. The ride is already going to be taxing.

I did a lot of research when I bought my CAAD9-5, and realized that while I was looking all over the place for the best option, I didn't look where I already place my rump, so to say.

I decided I'm going to pick up a matched set of Synapse Alloy 5 105s and switch them out to ROL SLRs (and then just hang onto the 2 sets of RS10s for training).

The only thing she wants done is for me to switch her drop bars to a flat bar, and that would mean I can bag the 105 brifters.

So not only will I have a second bar to back me up on both my club ride bike, and my rando, I'll be getting her onto a bike that meets her need for racks.
