Not really sure it'd be possible to provide any data on this that wouldn't be pure conjecture really.

I like in the PNW where it rains 366 days a year (or so it feels) and I've got bikes with treaded tires and bikes with slicks. I've noticed no difference with either due to the tread, but I do notice based off the compound the tire is made of. Some tires are horrible in the rain and I simply won't use them in those conditions anymore. Others are my "rain" tires now due to the fact that they are so superior in wet weather, but don't necessarily out perform other tires in other areas. Not scientific, but it's what's worked for me in the past and I'll stick with it.
